The beach is rather crowded so it is advisable to get there early in the morning to secure one of the coveted fire pit. And then at dusk see how magnificent shades of orange and pink paint the sky.
Watch the shimmering water while roasting the marshmallows, cover yourself with the blanket if the wind blows.
Dockweiler State Beach
Located between the playful waves and the airplanes over LAX airport, Dockweiler State Beach welcomes fiery fun as far as taking off path. Some rules include being able to claim one of the 500 fire pits early in the day and no new fires are allowed after 8 in the evening so you can enjoy flying kissed sunsets before planes start flying over the place.
Watch the fire burn and the flames flicker in the ocean wind while eating hot dogs and having good fun. Situated close to lively Venice Beach, Dockweiler has volleyball courts for daytime enjoyment and no-charge parking.
Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach is located at the west of Golden Gate Park and downtown San Francisco, extending for about 3 miles with strong wind, this is plus for kites during the day and fire by night.
The beach provides over 200 concrete fire rings along the sand with the fire rings being available on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Carry your own bundle of wood as fires are required to be at a distance of 25 feet.
Then cuddle up close to the glowing heat with drinks, tales, and starring over the pier into the sea and Seal Rocks. Since the fog is a constant companion in this California Beach Bonfire, put on your warm clothes and enjoy the mist swirls in the fire’s rays.
Carmel Beach
Carmel Beach – gentle ocean waves washing the shores with white sand framed by picturesque cottages. Located in a sheltered bay with minimal untamed beaches, this 1-mile-long beauty permits fires to be lit every night but for safety reasons, they are put off during high tides or harsh weather conditions.
Drive around to find one of the 60 fire pits set in the sand upon arrival by late morning as the popular ones are occupied on the weekends. Next, marvel at unchallenged sunset and the hazy point lobos headlands as piles of driftwood glow.
Beach Profile – La Jolla Shores Beach
Although there are many attractions and beautiful views around the area, La Jolla Shores is renowned as one of the most child-friendly beaches in San Diego.
When you arrive there, find a place to settle down at one of the more than 500 fire pits that are in the beach area and are in the public domain and therefore you can select any one you want depending on your arrival time.
